Hello, Northside families! Harrison County Schools just completed a conference call with our friends at the National Weather Service. Accordingly, we are CANCELLING all 21st Century (Northside STABLE) programs after school today. Our front office or STABLE staff will reach out to families to notify everyone who usually stays for STABLE.
Other outdoor activities will likely be cancelled across the district as well.

Tomorrow is May 1st. It's hard to imagine that the year has moved by so quickly. With that in mind, our Kentucky State Assessment (KSA) testing begins on Friday for grades 3-5. These tests are important to our school.
Here is our KSA schedule:
May 3rd - KSA Survey for Students
May 6th - 10th -- Reading, Math, Social Studies, Science, Language, and Writing.
Our students have worked hard this year, and we want students to show what they know! Please be sure your children get plenty of sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and do their best. We appreciate your support. We are very proud of our students! As we near the end of the year, we have many activities and celebrations coming!

Northside is enjoying a performance of "The Jungle Book", starring the Harrison County Schools Elementary Drama Club. Be sure to join us at HCHS for the live performances this weekend!
These kids are AMAZING!!!! I am so proud of our battle teams. The primary team (2nd/3rd) tied for 1st place. They read and remembered 50 book titles, 50 authors and facts about each book. They scored 34 out of 36 points possible. That means we missed two questions.
The intermediate team (4th/5th) tied for 2nd place. These students read 25 chapter books. They memorized 25 titles, 25 authors and facts about these books. They too scored 34 out of 36 points possible. CRAZY.
I am so proud of our parents, teachers and support staff that made today a success. I am proud to be a Northside Mustang.
Spring Picture Day is Thursday, March 14, 2024.
Next Week's Menu
Leap into Literacy at Northside tomorrow night. Join us to shop the book fair and visit classrooms to see projects the kids have worked on. Our 4th grade students will be presenting their "Wax Museum".
Kindness Week begins tomorrow.

February Reading Challenges are due tomorrow. Students may bring their signed form back to school for a prize from the "party cart." No late forms will be accepted.
The Book Fair will be here next week! Feb. 26-March 1, 2024. Take the time to create an E-wallet for your student so you don't have to worry about money getting lost on the way to school.
