Be on the Look Out for this information!!!
On Thursday, Oct. 31 at 9:30 a.m, Northside Elementary will be having a Book Character Style Show. Students and staff are invited to dress as a book character and model their costumes/props as they move across the stage in front of our school community. If you are interested in taking part in our style show, please carefully read the information below…
1. Your style show costume must represent a character from a book.
2. Be creative with your costume! We do not intend for ANYONE to go out and purchase an entire book character costume (unless it happens to also be your already purchased Halloween costume). We’d love for you to use items you already have at home or items you borrow from others instead of spending lots of money as you create your costume.
3. Please turn in a completed entry form to Mrs. Grob by Monday, Oct. 28 if you plan to participate. On your form, please describe your costume and or props in detail, as it will be what is read as you model your costume.
4. Along with your entry form, please turn in a copy of a book containing the book character you have chosen to dress as by Monday, Oct. 28. This can be your personal copy or one checked out from a library. (Make sure your name is on a post-it note inside the front cover of the book so that it can be returned to you.) The front cover of your book will be displayed on a screen during the show.
5. You may choose to enter individually or in groups. You may enter in pairs or groups, as long as each character in the group comes from the same book or book series.
6. This is a show designed to boost reading interest. It is not a contest. All students will be equally recognized for their participation.
7. Parents/grandparents/etc. are more than welcome to join us for the show if your schedule allows.
Many students and staff members have participated in this event in the past, and we all had a wonderful time with it. I know this year will be just as much fun!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Darla Grob
