Meet The Teacher: HCMS!
Ms. May is not a new face to HCMS, however, she will be taking on a new role as an 8th grade special education teacher this fall.
"My name is Callie May, until June 25, 2022. When school starts I will then be addressed by Callie Himes. I will be teaching at HCMS. That is something I never thought I would say. I always imagined working with the little kids. Last year I worked at HCMS as an instructional aide and I ended up loving it! 2022-2023 school year will be my first year as a teacher and I am so excited to start this new adventure.
A little more about me...
I was born and raised in Harrison County. I went to Eastside Elementary P-5, then to the Middle School and lastly the High School. After I graduated from High School I started my college career at Maysville Community and Technical College where I received my Associates Degree in 2019. In the fall of 2019 I enrolled in the Teacher Education program at Midway University where I graduated from in May with my Bachelor's Degree. This fall I will continue my college career and begin my Master's program at Georgetown College. In my free time I enjoy running, biking and being physically active. I find it relaxing being outdoors and traveling when I get the opportunity. I spend a lot of my free time with my family and friends. Finding new recipes for them to enjoy is also something I love to do."
