Mr. Slade’s Second Helpings

We took our last reading assessment via computer this week and the results were absolutely wonderful! Everyone made vast improvements. We are working hard and the resuts are showing!

Keep reading with your child at every opportunit! Our latest fluency assessments are unbelievable!

 We have experimented with friction and gravity. Talk to your child about these two forces and see what they know!

With all the days out due to snow, we will be reviewing concepts. Hopefully we won't miss too many more days!

I love snow as much as anyone, but i love summers too! There is a chance that we will be getting more of the white stuff late this weekend! Make memories and stay warm!

There's a chance we will get to play in the snow this weekend. Everyone stay safe and warm!

Please bring in the booklets for our fundraiser by Friday. If we are out, bring them the next day we come in.

Book orders are due Friday.  If we are out, bring them the next day we are here.

 Please send in empty detergent or fabric softener bottles. Make sure they have the lids with them. You can send these in every time you get an empty one!

We have been practicing telling time to the minute. Try to ask your child several times each day what time it is and help them develop this necessary skill.

We are also working on subtracting two-digit numbers with regrouping. This is a difficult concept to grasp and any extra practice will be beneficial.

The snow is melting, the sun is out!! Temperatures in the 40's this week! Can Spring be far away? Ok, I am getting ahead of myself, but one can hope…

We will use last week's spelling words for this week and please continue to read with your child for 15 minutes each night.
